It was a sweet feeling when Nigeria finally had the opportunity to join in the 2016 edition of the 24H Dubai race which was powered by Hankook.
It was held from January 14 to January 16, 2016, at the Autodrome. Did you miss it?
The international endurance race usually lasts 24 hours, and competing for the winning position this year were 80 drivers from 80 countries.
Nigeria was there! Unbelievable but true. No, we didn’t go to shine the rails. Or to sell tyres. We raced!
Representing Nigeria was… Wait for it…
I bet when you first saw the car at the top of the post you didn’t think it was for us huh? Wait, so what were you expecting, a ’92 Volvo?
Anyway, that totally adorable guy is from Switzerland. Yea, Switzerland. He’s lived for a long time in Nigeria though, and clearly has grown his Nigerian-ness. He’s married to a Nigerian too, Tatiana Moussalli Nouri, the daughter of a media mogul. So yeah, you tend to get pissed at home and have to drive around town a lot.
Back to the race…
So they were driving…and driving… and driving…. and bahm! There was a crash… As usual.
Unfortunately, Nouri crashed out of the race after a BMW from another lane rammed into his Lamborghini Huracan.
How do you crash into a £300,000 car? How? You couldn’t veer off to the opposite side?
Or go over it?
And it came from another lane?? What sort of racist driving is that!?
We just got here for goodness sake! That BMW just ruined Nigeria’s chance of winning a race in 2098. Poor shame!
But then he probably put the flag on the windshield. You know we Nigerians tend to overdo things.
