I’ve met some really talented people in my life. The guy you are about to meet being one of them. It was by sheer happenstance that our paths crossed. It was back in the University when myself and a course mate decided to go visit a third course mate at her house. So there we were, waiting for the Indomie noodles to get ready and planning how we would mock her life out if it didn’t taste better than the one we cooked ourselves in our individual houses. I decided to have a look around the building as i liked to
do amebo explore. I stepped out her room and wore the the pair of slippers I set my eyes on. Long story short, it was his pair of slippers and we quickly bonded. Cool guy he was. We talked extensively about concepts for films and then he showed me an artwork he was working on. Made of toothpicks and glue!
Ladies and gentlemen Adeoye Adetunji
He is a graduate of Mathematics from the University of Ilorin. He’s now an Actor, Artiste and Production designer.
So much for mathematics…
He doesn’t think he’s got many talents cos all he does is Art. Funny.
Oh, I mentioned he’s an actor, right? Well, he came out First runner up in the just concluded “Next Movie Star” reality tv show.
He still doesn’t think he’s got many talents cos all he does is Art. Still funny.
So this guy discovered a way to express himself through art about ten years ago and he does this using your everyday toothpicks.
Toothpicks! I thought those were for teeth and cleaning fingernails… and ears?
He labels his form of art 2thpickart.
His work has been featured on CCTV Africa, Channels TV, Moments with MO, Life TV , AM Express, TVC , Architecture magazines and many more.
He doesn’t think he’s multi talented though….
Wait, there’s more. He also has to his credit “Art director/Production designer” in host of movies, music videos and series!
He’s got plans to bring all experience, craft, personality and exposure to his very own movie that’ll be titled “NEGA“. He says we should expect it to be coming out sometime in the near future. The movie will be about events in an imaginary “Wooden age” to state the fact that there was technology before civilization. Now who wouldn’t want to see that!
